Caroline Castigliola is special counsel in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. She joined the firm in 2024 and practices in the casualty and mass tort litigation group. Caroline has more than a decade of legal experience in a wide range of areas including civil and criminal matters, insurance, and litigation. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in local, state, and government offices, the World Trade Center of New Orleans, and a private defense firm.

Prior to law school, Caroline worked in Washington D.C. as the sole counsel for Senator Roger Wicker’s personal office regarding legislative matters, including vote recommendations within jurisdiction of Judiciary, Agriculture, and Rules Committees.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
  • Drafted multiple appellate briefs, including in successful defense of summary judgment on behalf of a major client.
  • Drafted amicus brief in support of certiorari on behalf of a national trade association.
  • Successfully pursued numerous motions for summary judgment in federal district court which were affirmed by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
  • Argued cross-appeal regarding a novel issue before the Mississippi Court of Appeals.
  • Argued motion for partial summary judgment and motions in limine in circuit court.
  • Successfully defended claim against a major telecommunications provider in justice court.
EDUCATION

Caroline earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2012. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, in English from University of Mississippi in 2008. While in law school, Caroline served as a Student Member of the American Inn of Court, Student Attorney for the Mississippi Innocence Project Legal Clinic, and member of the Moot Court Executive Board. She was an Appellate Advocacy Competition Semifinalist and Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition Quarterfinalist.
