Colton Duhon is an associate in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. He joined the firm in 2024 and practices with the energy and environmental litigation group. Prior to joining the firm, Colton served as a judicial extern to Chief Judge Shelly D. Dick of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana.

While in law school, Colton served as a Junior Associate and a Senior Editor of the Journal of Energy Law & Resources. He also served as a Research Assistant to Professor Margaret Thomas for Federal Courts and Evidence and as an Academic Tutor to Professor Tracy Norton for Legal Process I. Colton received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Legal Research and Writing II, Mineral Rights, Environmental Law, and Administration of Criminal Justice II. He graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif for the Class of 2024. Colton was also a recipient of the Paul M. Hebert Scholar Award (Fall 2021-Spring 2023) and Dean’s Scholar Award (Fall 2023-Spring 2024).

EDUCATION

Colton earned his J.D./D.C.L., magna cum laude, from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2024. He earned his B.A., summa cum laude, in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 2020.
