Derek Brondum is an associate in the New Orleans office of Kean Miller. He joined the firm in 2024 and practices with the federal and state and local tax groups.
Prior to law school, Derek worked as a tax accountant for a local public accounting firm. He also worked as an accountant for a large non-profit organization, where he focused on the preparation of the organization’s financial statements and led the implementation of a new financial management system.
Derek is a Certified Public Accountant. He is an Adjunct Instructor of Accounting at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he teaches an online course on the use of accounting data in business decision making for the MBA program.
Derek earned his J.D., cum laude, and Civil Law Certificate from the Tulane University Law School in 2024. He earned his M.S. in Accounting from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2019 and his B.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 2018.
