Mark Miller brings more than two decades of experience to his business advisory, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, and wealth, business succession, and estate planning practice. He is dedicated to preserving the integrity of smaller and middle-market companies, including privately owned and family businesses. In addition to assisting his clients to realize their return-on-investment objectives, he works with owners and families to safeguard business continuity and wealth preservation for generations to come.
Mark’s transactional commercial law practice includes representing businesses and individuals across the full array of business transactions, including strategic mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, real estate, and other tactical arrangements. He advises on many types of business structures and corporate governance matters.
A trusted, proven, and smart negotiator who listens and finds solutions to even the most difficult problems and seemingly disparate positions, Mark is known for his highly effective contract negotiation skills.
Mark also brings focused expertise to advising business owners involved in the timber and forestry industry. He negotiates, documents, and closes their most important transactions.
Mark believes in collaborating with his business clients to plan for their company’s future through sound succession planning. He works with a variety of business owners and family businesses to ensure daily operations, liquidity, and opportunity continue to the next generation. In addition to advising on organizational structure, estate planning, compensation, and exit strategies, Mark understands the many challenges and emotions that can infuse business succession transitions.
As a natural extension of his business advisory and wealth and estate preservation practice, Mark also advises on estate planning, probate law, and interdictions. He represents trustees, executors, beneficiaries, and heirs throughout all phases of estate and trust administration, as well as advises on fiduciary law matters. Mark resolves disagreements between beneficiaries/heirs and fiduciaries and navigates clients through and beyond probate of estates and the post-death administration of trusts. He has earned his stellar reputation for his depth of legal acumen, consummate professionalism, productive communication, and personal sensitivity when guiding clients beyond the personal and family dynamics that arise when consolidating, valuing, liquidating, administering, and transferring assets.
