Katie Hollowell is an associate in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. She joined the firm in 2019, and practices with the energy/environmental litigation and labor, commercial litigation, construction, and intellectual property practice groups. Her practice includes business litigation, bankruptcy and business reorganization, commercial collections and foreclosure, and environmental and energy litigation.
Katie is a member of the 2023 class of Pathfinders of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). She is listed in Louisiana Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 2024.
- Represents lenders and borrowers in financing negotiations and distressed debt workouts for secured financing ranging from $100,000 to $100,000,000. Recent workouts include borrowers in the following sectors: auto sales and finance, construction, consumer finance, energy, equipment leasing, healthcare, offshore production, offshore services, real estate development, and retail
- Assists lenders, debt purchasers, and national counsel with legal due diligence, collateral review, and opinion letters
- Regularly advises multinational and local energy companies, service companies, and contractors on bankruptcy matters involving their contractors, operators, partners, vendors, and their predecessors and successors in title
- Regularly represents banks, commercial finance companies, other secured lenders, and servicers in bankruptcy cases in Louisiana
- Regularly represents secured and unsecured creditors in foreclosure and collections proceedings in state and federal courts
- Regularly represents oil and gas companies in litigation concerning historical contamination claims to property in Louisiana
Katie earned her B.A from Louisiana State University in 2014. She earned her J.D./D.C.L., summa cum laude, from the LSU Law Center in 2017, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif, Production Editor of the Louisiana Law Review and an LSU Law Ambassador. During law school, Katie externed for Chief Judge Brian Jackson of the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Louisiana.
