"I focus on how to achieve and implement what my healthcare industry clients want to do rather than telling them what they can't do. By listening carefully to their specific needs and objectives, I navigate them through the many obstacles inherent in the healthcare sector when designing a legal strategy that results in their specific end game, compliant with applicable laws and regulations."

Chuck Boudreaux serves as outside general counsel to physicians and healthcare organizations of all kinds. He brings more than four decades of proven skill and undeniable breadth of experience in representing healthcare industry constituents on the full range of legal issues they face.

Chuck advises clients not only on transactional, governance, regulatory compliance, operational and risk management matters but also handles state and federal court litigation and advocacy before healthcare agencies and medical boards – a comprehensive array of legal services not commonly offered by a single healthcare attorney today.

Chuck provides legal counsel regarding the most cutting-edge industry trends. This includes advice regarding Louisiana’s shift toward community-based care and expanding focus on telehealth, mental health services, population health management, and technological advancements in cardiology, wound care, oncology, robotic and radio surgery to name a few. He is fluent in the legalities and nomenclature of the healthcare industry including telehealth, wearable devices, and remote monitoring systems that aim to enhance efficiency, patient care, and data analysis.

Among Chuck’s clients are physicians, physician groups, and healthcare organizations, including physician and corporate-owned facilities, single-specialty and multiple-specialty clinics, healthcare-related foundations, and allied health professionals.

Clients appreciate that when Chuck reviews their contracts, he interprets them through the lens of a business advisor with knowledge of the special environment endemic to the healthcare industry and as a litigator, determining what a court would do in the event of a dispute and then addressing any ambiguity that might result in additional risk for his client. Because his practice is statewide, Chuck is familiar with the varying and subtle differences of industry needs in different parts of the state.

In an industry where there is no substitute for experience, Chuck has served as lead counsel on thousands of healthcare transactions, regulatory matters and medical professional liability matters and other healthcare litigation over the course of his career. Earlier in his career, he represented state-owned/operated healthcare facilities in professional liability litigation as a Special Assistant Attorney General; and, was appointed lead coordinating counsel for brain damage, anesthesia, cardiac, and emergency department litigation by a leading international professional liability insurance carrier. He has tried numerous medical malpractice cases to conclusion with favorable results.
