Derek J. Anchondo Joins Kean Miller in Houston, Strengthens Business, Corporate, M&A, Oil and Gas Teams

Kean Miller continues to grow as the 225-attorney, full-service law firm announces the addition of Derek J. Anchondo as special counsel. Derek, a seasoned corporate attorney and former general counsel, joins the firm in the fast-growing Houston office, where he practices with the business, corporate, M&A, and oil and gas groups.

Derek advises all types of businesses regarding complex commercial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, corporate governance, real estate, and U.S. regulatory, SEC, and public filings. He also guides clients of all sizes through banking and finance, secured credit transactions, best practices, anti-bribery compliance and corruption legislation, and international trade compliance. As a former in-house counsel, Derek focuses on advising executive teams and boards of directors, as well as clients in shareholder and investor relations matters. He also has extensive oil and gas and energy industry experience, routinely handling matters related to upstream and midstream activities, in addition to a multitude of maritime issues.

Derek earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1999. He earned his B.A. in History and Political Science from Trinity University in 1996.
