Isaac MacPherson "Mack" Gregorie is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. He joined the firm in 1984 and has extensive experience in all types of business and corporate transactions, including complex commercial and industrial real estate matters and finance. Mack represents major international petrochemical clients, worldwide energy producers, banks and financial institutions, buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants, and lenders. A Certified Public Accountant, Mack lectures frequently on real estate topics such as sales, leases, property law, purchase and sale agreements, and recent developments in real estate law. He is also a title agent for First American Title Insurance Company. Mack earned his B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1979. Leonard L. “Len” Kilgore is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. He is one of the founding members of the firm and has more than 30 years of experience in complex litigation, including experience in environmental and toxic tort litigation, and class actions. Len represents local, national and international commercial, energy and industrial clients in litigation involving toxic tort claims, personal injury, property damage claims, and class actions. Much of the litigation he has handled requires the development of complex expert testimony and scientific evidence. Len earned his B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1973. Charles S. "Trey" McCowan, III is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. He joined the firm in 1989 and practices in the litigation group. Trey represents local, regional and multinational energy and petrochemical clients in a wide variety of litigation matters. He has specific experience representing clients in litigation involving complex commercial agreements and legacy site litigation in the energy industry. Trey also represents clients with regard to environmental litigation and toxic tort defense. He is the recipient of the 2009-2010 Sustainable Environment Award from the LSU School of Coast and Environment, Department of Environmental Sciences for his Master's Thesis entitled The Impact of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita on the Louisiana Judicial System. About Carey Messina (Baton Rouge Lawyer of the Year – Trusts and Estates)
Carey J. Messina is a partner in the Baton Rouge-Bluebonnet office of Kean Miller. He is one of the founding members of the firm and previously served as the administrative partner for six years. Carey leads the firm's estate planning and probate group and represents clients in wills, trust, succession, and federal tax matters. He works with individuals and families to establish estate plans. Carey also works with individuals to create non-profit corporations. He has particular experience in transactions involving valuation of closely held businesses for succession purposes, establishing shareholder agreements, and establishing wealth transfer entities. Carey is a Certified Public Accountant and is a Board Certified Tax Law Specialist and Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization. Russel O. Primeaux is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. He joined the firm in 1997 and leads the intellectual property (IP) practice, which includes trademark, patent, copyright and trade secrets. Russel is a Registered Patent Attorney and is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He represents clients in obtaining protection for the various forms of IP and in litigation involving infringement. Russel also has experience in the representation of clients in the licensing, sale or evaluation of IP. Russel handles IP matters spanning a wide range of technologies, including biochemistry, business methods, chemical processes, computer printer designs, digital hardware designs, electronic devices, medical devices, microprocessor design, electric power transmission, gas chromatography, oil exploration, software, thermodynamics, and waste treatment. On numerous occasions, he has served as an expert witness in patent infringement litigation in cases involving both utility patents and design patents.
