In Memoriam – Carey J. Messina

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of a remarkable attorney, partner, and friend, Carey J. Messina.  During his 40-year legal career, Carey established hundreds of personal and professional relationships across Louisiana and around the country.  These relationships were built on trust, meaningful attention to client needs, and thoughtful legal advocacy.  

A founding member of Kean Miller, Carey served as its administrative partner for many years, and guided the business affairs of the Firm before launching Kean Miller’s second office in Baton Rouge on Bluebonnet Boulevard.  

A gifted lawyer, Carey guided his clients through a variety of legal, tax, and business challenges.  He worked with hundreds of people and their families to create estate plans, establish wills, and handle succession matters.  Carey gave significant amounts of his time and talents to countless community, civic, and charitable organizations in the Capital Region.  We at Kean Miller are grateful for having known and worked with Carey Messina.  

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Jolie, the Messina family, and all who Carey touched in the community.
