Jay Jalenak Recognized for Pro Bono Service
Kean Miller partner Jay M. Jalenak, Jr. has been awarded the David A. Hamilton Lifetime Achievement Pro Bono Award by the Louisiana State Bar Association. Each year, the award recognizes a Louisiana attorney who demonstrates a lifetime commitment to the provision of legal services to the poor. The award is presented to a lawyer who has made significant contributions to enhance the pro bono movement in Louisiana over their lifetime, and has shown significant leadership and service on behalf of the poor and disenfranchised.

Jay Jalenak joined Kean Miller in 1990 and practices in the litigation group. Jay represents clients in toxic tort litigation, commercial and business litigation, and personal injury defense. He has extensive experience in the defense of area industrial and petrochemical facilities, and in warranty, asbestos, welding rod, toxic tort, premises and products liability claims. Jay is a Past President of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, and serves on the Board of Directors of Southeast Louisiana Legal Services. Jay earned his B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College in 1987. He earned his J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1990.
