"I value my long-term clients and relationships, particularly with individual doctors, universities and their physicians, and across the automotive industry. Many of these relationships have spanned three decades. In return, I believe my clients appreciate my attention to detail and dedication to smart advocacy that mitigates their risk and works towards the best possible outcome."
Karen M. Fontana Young focuses her practice on defending medical malpractice, automotive product liability and warranty, and other industry-focused product liability claims.
As a formidable and proven litigator, Karen defends physicians in claims of malpractice, privilege disputes, and contract claims. She guides physicians through every phase of a malpractice claim, including pre-suit panel proceedings, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, pre-trial hearings, trials, and appeals.
In addition, Karen is a longtime defense attorney for major automotive industry clients, including a selection of some of the most well-known automotive companies in business today. She defends the rights of manufacturers and importers in both product liability and warranty claims. She understands how automotive companies do business, including how they develop their products and incorporate emerging technologies into their operations.
In addition to safeguarding the rights of physicians and automotive companies, Karen defends product liability claims for a variety of other markets and industry sectors. Karen’s ability to understand and translate the more complex medical aspects of damages is a key contributor to the defense’s ability to properly assess and mitigate or limit damages.
