Kean Miller Adds Bankruptcy Practice in Houston

Kean Miller, a 165-attorney full-service business law firm in Texas and Louisiana, is pleased to announce the additions of Lloyd A. Lim and Rachel T. Kubanda as Partners in its downtown Houston office, subsequently creating a fully-realized corporate bankruptcy and restructuring practice in Texas.

Lloyd and Rachel focus their practice primarily in the energy and retail sectors, providing counsel to financial institutions, lenders and lender groups, asset managers and creditors, landlords, financially distressed businesses and debtors, and the buyers of assets in connection with distressed transactions.

Kean Miller has been actively advising local, regional, and global businesses with operations along the Gulf Coast for decades, and with this new Texas-focused practice, the Firm enhances the scope and reach of its critical financial restructuring service throughout the southern states.

Lloyd Lim joins the Firm as a Partner and represents lenders, creditors, bondholders, trustees, asset purchasers, and landlords in out-of-court workouts and Chapter 11 proceedings. He is a graduate of the SMU Dedman School of Law, cum laude, and has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer in Bankruptcy: Business for eight consecutive years.

Rachel Kubanda also joins Kean Miller as a Partner. She will focus on out-of-court and bankruptcy court financial restructurings and complex litigation issues that may arise in particular bankruptcy cases. She is a graduate of the South Texas College of Law, graduating magna cum laude with High Honors, and achieved the Super Lawyers distinction in 2020.

Both Lloyd and Rachel are licensed to appear before the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Supreme Court, all District Courts in Texas, and all Bankruptcy Courts in Texas.
