Kean Miller Adds Litigation Talent in Houston

Kean Miller’s rapid growth in Texas continues as the 202-attorney, full-service law firm announces the addition of David L. Pybus and Alasdair A. Roberts in the downtown Houston office. With this growth, the Firm expands its ability to provide clients with quality legal services, meaningful counsel, and a positive client experience.

David L. Pybus joins the firm as a partner practicing with the casualty and mass tort, commercial litigation, and offshore energy and marine litigation groups. He has successfully represented clients in all types of lawsuits for more than 30 years. David has tried cases to verdict or decision, both before judges and juries and in arbitration. He has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation and regularly represents companies in contractual disputes. David’s experience includes defense in the energy arena, including well blow-outs, oilfield accidents, and chemical plant fires or explosions. He has also handled matters involving structured settlement and interpleader litigation on behalf of annuity companies.

David is AV Preeminent-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He has also been recognized as a Top Lawyer by H Texas Magazine. David earned his J.D., cum laude, from University of Texas at Austin in 1986 and his B.B.A., magna cum laude, from University of Texas at Austin in 1982.

Alasdair A. Roberts joins the firm as special counsel practicing with the casualty and mass tort, commercial litigation, and offshore energy and marine litigation groups. He focuses his practice on energy industry litigation, personal injury defense, products liability defense, and corporate representation. Al is an experienced trial attorney who has litigated numerous cases in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. His experience includes obtaining reversal by the Supreme Court of Texas of multiple trial court orders requiring production of irrelevant and privileged information. Al also has significant multi-district litigation experience and has successfully moved for the creation of MDL dockets for multiple clients.

Al is listed in Texas Super Lawyers as a Rising Star from 2020-2023. He earned his J.D. from the South Texas College of Law Houston in 2010 and his B.A. from University of Texas at Austin in 2005.
