Kean Miller Launches Corporate Transparency Act Questionnaire and Reporting Platform

Kean Miller is excited to announce the launch of its Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA”) compliance evaluation and reporting platform, CTA Collaboration. The firm can now help business owners determine if their companies are required to comply with the CTA. The CTA took effect on January 1, 2024, and requires an estimated 32 million entities to report personal information about their beneficial owners to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (“FinCEN”). The CTA aims to assist federal law enforcement in combatting money laundering and other financial crimes carried out through anonymous shell companies. The deadline for companies formed prior to January 1, 2024, to file beneficial owner reports is January 1, 2025. The filing deadline for companies formed on or after January 1, 2024, is 90 days after the company received notice of its formation.

Kean Miller’s CTA Collaboration platform provides a one-stop-shop for submission of beneficial owner information, company information, and related compliance documentation. After the complimentary screening questionnaire and engagement and conflict check process, the platform guides users through the compliance process and collects relevant information which can be filed through the FinCEN compliance portal by the Kean Miller business team for a reasonable fee.
