Kean Miller's Popular Employment Law Forum Returns November 1

Kean Miller’s highly popular Employment Law Forum returns to the Lawton Room in Tiger Stadium on Friday, November 1. This well-attended legal seminar begins with registration and breakfast at 8:00 a.m., followed by the program at 8:45 a.m., and an optional tour of LSU’s Tiger Stadium at 1:00 p.m. A networking lunch is also provided.  

This important program has been approved for 3.0 CLE hours by the Louisiana State Bar Association and is also valid for 3.0 CPE hours and 3.0 PDC toward SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP recertification.

About the Program: 

Ed Hardin and Chelsea Caswell will present, “The Interaction of the ADA, FMLA, PWFA, and a Few More Consonants and Vowels.” In this presentation, participants will explore the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (among others), see how the laws are complementary, and also see how the laws diverge. 

Scott Huffstetler and Erin Kilgore will present, “Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace: Navigating the New Frontier.” This presentation will discuss AI’s current and potential future impact on labor and employment matters, including the use of AI in recruiting and engagement of employees, as well as provide legal and practical approaches for human resource professionals in navigating this new frontier. 

David Whitaker and Zoë Vermeulen will present, “Examining New Wage Payment Compliance and Overtime Regulations: What You Need to Know to Stay Compliant.” The presenters will provide an essential update on the latest developments in wage payment laws, focusing on both Louisiana and federal requirements and explore the current status of legal challenges against key Department of Labor regulations.
