Michael A. McGlone

Of Counsel

Mike McGlone is of counsel in the New Orleans office of Kean Miller. He is the senior-most Admiralty and Maritime lawyer in the firm with extensive experience in admiralty and maritime law, energy law, energy litigation, marine insurance, personal injury defense, collisions, and allisions. He represents the interests of drilling contractors, energy producers, marine transportation companies, undersea construction contractors, oil & gas companies, offshore vessel, work boat and barge companies, pipelines and product manufacturers. Mike regularly advises clients with respect to contractual rights, Master Service Agreements, indemnity and insurance provisions, the Louisiana Oilfield Indemnity Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers Act, and provides counsel in connection with business litigation, trial strategy, and unique aspects of Louisiana law.

A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (2004), Mike works closely with his clients to develop trial strategies designed to resolve cases effectively and economically. Mike tries cases in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana and the United States. He has successfully tried more than 90 cases before juries, judges, and administrative bodies.

He is a past recipient of the New Orleans CityBusiness Leadership in Law Award which recognizes the Top 50 attorney in the Greater New Orleans region. Mike was named 2011 Alumnus of the Year by Jesuit High School of New Orleans. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Admiralty and Maritime for 2013-2025 and in Louisiana Super Lawyers for 2006-2024. Mike is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Education

Mike earned his B.B.A. in Business Administration, cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans in 1972. He earned his J.D. in 1975 from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review. Upon graduation from law school, Mike served as a law clerk to the Hon. Herbert W. Christenberry of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
