"As a former in-house attorney, I bring a unique business perspective to our clients on corporate and transactional opportunities, employment issues, licensing challenges, workers' compensation claims, wage and hour concerns, local permitting, and general corporate governance."
Molly Vigour focuses her practice on business and transactional matters. She has experience in labor and employment, entity formation, business licensing, commercial and restaurant leases, vendor contracts, lease extensions and disputes, purchase agreements, title curative work, landlord and tenant issues, and special event permitting. Molly brings a unique perspective to our clients based on her nearly 20 years serving as an in-house counsel.
During Molly’s time as counsel to a local New Orleans company, she served as a partner to the business owners and provided guidance on federal and state wage and hour laws and employment matters such as unemployment claims, health insurance, workplace safety, Form I-9 compliance, leave management, and disability accommodation. She provided guidance and solutions to more than 200 clients to successfully weather the Covid-19 pandemic. Molly counseled employers on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) testing and quarantine guidance for maintaining staffing levels, returning employees back to the job quickly, and limiting employer liability. She worked with outside counsel on workers’ compensation litigation and corporate litigation and managed filings for corporate, insurance, and professional licenses in 10 states. Molly oversaw E-Verify employer agent services, wage garnishments, and record requests.
Molly also handled employment discrimination claims, investigations, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) responses for hospitality companies. She formed corporate entities and handled governance for numerous entities of multi-generational family business. Molly reviewed, prepared, and negotiated commercial documents including commercial and restaurant leases, vendor contracts, and franchise disclosure documentation for restaurant locations. She managed litigation matters and construction arbitration with outside counsel and monitored a commercial leasehold portfolio. Molly worked with landlords and tenants on repair and maintenance issues, disputes, and lease extensions. Molly also coordinated video gaming licenses and permits for Mardi Gras special events with state and local agencies.
After law school, Molly served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Donald E. Walter of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
