Taylor Dunne focuses her practice on intellectual property and environmental regulatory matters. She also has experience in energy matters, administrative law, and utility regulation.
As a registered patent attorney licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Taylor has filed provisional and non-provisional patent applications. She has also drafted and negotiated licensing agreements and assignments for trade secrets, patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property matters. She also assists clients in intellectual property protection, transactions, and litigation matters.
Taylor previously engaged with state and federal agencies in environmental regulatory proceedings including drafting nine-factor analyses in response to compliance orders/notices of potential penalties and responding to requests for information under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act. She has represented clients before the Louisiana Public Service Commission in various matters including approval of power supply contracts, filing formula rate plans and tariffs, seeking interim rate increases, and commenting in rule making dockets.
Taylor also has counseled state agencies and private clients on compliance with federal financial laws and regulations including advising on securities laws and regulations with regard to raising capital; advising on compliance with U.S. Treasury regulations regarding venture capital, seed capital, lending, and related financial programs; drafting documents for raising capital including operating agreements, private placement memoranda, subscription agreements, and joinder agreements; and litigating securities fraud claims on behalf of private claims.
After law school, Taylor served as a Term Clerk for Magistrate Judges Karen L. Hayes and Kayla D. McClusky of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, where she gained experience in a wide range of federal civil matters including Section 1983 civil rights actions, Title VII employment discrimination actions, and intellectual property disputes. During law school, she served as an Extern for Judge Brian A. Jackson of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, where she worked on matters involving equal employment opportunity issues, discrimination issues, and personal injury issues.
