Eric Lockridge Selected for 2009 40 Under 40 Awards
Kean Miller LLP partner J. Eric Lockridge has been selected as one of the Baton Rouge Business Report's "40 Under 40" honorees for 2009.
About Eric Lockridge
Eric Lockridge is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller LLP. He joined the firm in September 2005 and practices in the Commercial Litigation, Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy, and Intellectual Property groups.
Eric devotes a majority of his practice to commercial bankruptcy and litigation. He has tried commercial and tort cases to verdict, and successfully defended judgments on appeal. He currently focuses on bankruptcy-related litigation and complex commercial cases for Kean Miller's construction, energy and financial sector clients.
Eric advises Kean Miller's corporate clients on risk-management and strategic issues, such as corporate structures, document retention programs, and insurance-related concerns. He also uses his experience in intellectual-property and trade-secret litigation to assist clients with negotiating and implementing licensing agreements, joint ventures, non-compete agreements, and other business goals. Before attending law school, Eric served as Assistant Press Secretary to former United States Senator Paul Coverdell of Georgia.
Eric earned his J.D. with honors from The University of Texas School of Law in 1999. In law school, Eric was a member of the National Mock Trial Team and served as associate editor for the Texas Review of Law and Politics. Eric earned his B.A. in Political Science from Emory University in 1995.
Eric serves on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana School for the Deaf Foundation and on the Board of Directors for Youth Oasis. Youth Oasis is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing necessary resources and support services to at-risk youth in order that they may become successful citizens of the Baton Rouge community.
In addition to his board service to the Louisiana School for the Deaf Foundation and to Youth Oasis, Eric serves on the Steering Committee of the Good Growth, Infrastructure, and Transportation Committee of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, the Education Committee for the Louisiana Bar Foundation, volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, and provides free legal services to the less fortunate as a Pro Bono Volunteer for the Baton Rouge Bar Association.
