Jim Doré Admitted to American College of Trial Lawyers
Kean Miller LLP is pleased to announce that James P. Doré has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America. Mr. Doré was inducted into the College at its 2011 Annual Meeting in LaQuinta, California.
Founded in 1950, the College is composed of the best of the trial bar from the United States and Canada. Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years trial experience before they can be considered for Fellowship. Membership in the College cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province. There are approximately 5,800 members in the United States and Canada.
Mr. Doré joins Kean Miller partners Charles S. McCowan, Jr., Michael A. McGlone, and Vance A. Gibbs in the College.
About James P. Doré
Mr. Doré is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller and practices in the firm’s litigation group. He works with clients in the areas of commercial litigation, legacy oil field operations, medical malpractice defense, toxic tort and environmental litigation and class actions. Mr. Doré has extensive litigation experience as lead counsel, and has brought over 85 cases to verdict in bench and jury trials. He earned his B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1969. He earned his J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1973. He was with the Louisiana Department of Justice from 1973 until 1976. He is a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana State (House of Delegates, 1980-1986; Litigation and Environmental Law Sections), American, Federal, Federal Fifth Circuit, Louisiana, 19th and 18th Judicial District Bar Associations. Mr. Doré is a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel (Board of Directors), the Defense Research Institute, the Louisiana Bar Foundation (Fellow), and the American Board of Trial Advocacy.
