Mike McGlone Appointed Chair of Maritime Law Association Subcommittee
Michael A. McGlone has been appointed as Chair of the Offshore Facilities and OCS Operations Subcommittee of the Offshore Industries Committee of the Maritime Law Association of the United States (MLA). The Offshore Industries Committee and the Offshore Facilities and OCS Operations Subcommittee review, discuss and report on all matters related to maritime operations in the domestic offshore industries, including federal and state jurisprudence, administrative law, legislation, and regulations from U.S. Coast Guard, Environmental Protection Agency, Customs, Minerals Management Service, Maritime Administration, National Transportation Safety Board, the Labor Department, and state and local government agencies.

The MLA seeks to advance reforms in the Maritime Law of the United States, to facilitate justice in its administration, to promote uniformity in its enactment and interpretation, to furnish a forum for the discussion and consideration of problems affecting the Maritime Law and its administration, and to act with other associations in efforts to bring about a greater harmony in the shipping laws, regulations and practices of different nations.
About Mike McGlone
Mr. McGlone is a partner in the New Orleans office of Kean Miller LLP. He is the senior-most Admiralty and Maritime lawyer in the firm. He has extensive experience in admiralty and maritime law, maritime litigation, marine insurance, personal injury defense, collisions, allisions and federal and state appeals. Mr. McGlone has more than 30 years of trial and appellate court experience before a wide variety of state and federal courts throughout the United States. He is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and was a recipient of the 2005 New Orleans City Business Inaugural Leadership in Law Award. He received his J.D. from Loyola University Law School in 1975 where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review. He earned his B.B.A. in Business Administration, cum laude, from Loyola University in 1972. Upon graduation from law school, he served as a law clerk to the Hon. Herbert W. Christenberry of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
